Motivation or Inspiration? Which one do you think you need?
I have a very different perspective on this than most coaches…
Wanna know what it is?
Get ready, because this is going to be controversial for some of you.
Here is it: I DON’T BELIEVE IN MOTIVATION.
It takes too much thought friction and energy from the mind, so it’s hard to maintain.
In fact, IT’S UNSUSTAINABLE.
And, if a state of mind is unsustainable, at some point, you’ll “quit” or “burn out.”
And, because you’re probably very well trained in mindset work, you’ll beat yourself up for not being able to STAY MOTIVATED. You’ll look for new and better tools, new and better techniques to become a master at MOTIVATION. You’ll pour all your energy into trying to stay motivated until you are drained and have NO ENERGY LEFT to ACTUALLY CREATE.
Inspiration, on the other hand, is very different.
Inspiration is NOT generated by the thinking mind. It comes from a deeper intelligence, a source WITHIN YOU that is infinite and self-generated.
Inspiration is not a state that you have to maintain; it’s an energy you get to surf.
You don’t have to WORK at inspiration; you open to it and let it guide you. You allow it to be channeled through you.
You won’t need to expand a lot of thought energy to stay inspired because inspiration has a magnetic pull that will invite you into almost effortless action.
Inherent to inspiration are higher states of performance and high levels of productivity. I’ve seen it first hand in myself and my clients. Its energetic force is so powerful that something you thought was going to take 6 months to create ends up taking 2 weeks.
