I remember vividly the day we hit the million-dollar mark.
It was a blistering snowy day, and the store was packed with clients who’d come to check out our new yoga wear collection.
I was wrapping up a sale and sending a happy client on her way when I hit the refresh button on the computer to see that we’d reached the million dollar mark.
Happy dance, and…a strange sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Even though I loved my business, sales were good and my collections were a hit amongst yoginis, the truth was that I felt…trapped. Like Alice in Wonderland when she drinks the mysterious liquid in the DRINK ME bottle and grows SO BIG her limbs come out of the house and SHE CAN’T MOVE.
As if my bigger potential as an entrepreneur could not be realized through the current form of my business.
My intuition had been waving BIG RED FLAGS for months, urging me to start planning my exit strategy and prepare for the next phase of my entrepreneurial life.
That’s when I decided it was time to transition into my next venture, one that would enable me to enjoy more freedom and more travel and enable me to work wherever/whenever.
As divine timing would have it, I had already began training to become a certified coach while still running the stores, yoga studio and my team of employees.
I’d developed skills in marketing and social media and managed our online store so we could ship our clothes around the world, so I knew how to develop a web presence…
And so my online coaching business was born.
Transitioning from offline to online was no small feat. Yes, I was taking with me 10+ years experience as an entrepreneur, but I still had to learn pretty much EVERYTHING on how to successfully launch and grow an online business.
In the following 3 years, I took 40+ courses, trainings and programs so that I could master the art of online business. To top it off, I also invested in 2 more coaching certifications – hence the Supercoach title – and mentored with some of the best coaches and business strategists in the world.
Then one day, the time came to let go of everything I had learned from other people so that the purest expression of my business could be born.
A business truly unique to me. A business that reflected MY genius, honored MY OWN voice and UNIQUE skills.
It was paramount for me that I build a business from the inside out through elegant marketing and authentic selling (not through sleazy tactics).
Now, after 4 years on this journey, I see the direct impact and concrete results of working hand in hand with my inner CEO™.
If you’re just starting out in your business, and you’re thinking, “I don’t have 4 years to dedicate to my business education,” you should know 2 things:
